Numbers are usually down during the summer months but so are our contributions. Items needed for October and future distribution include canned soups, vegetables, and fruits, breakfast cereal including boxed cereals, regular or instant oatmeal, pancake mix and syrup. Peanut butter is always welcome and a good source of protein for school lunches.
We’d also like to have some baking items available such as sugar (granulated, confectioners or brown) flour, baking powder, soda, salt, baking chips, raisins, pie filling and so on.
Non food items are always welcome and some suggestions are toothbrushes, toothpaste, bar soap, dish soap, shaving items etc. Cash contributions are always appreciated and allow us to buy in bulk and get a substantial discount on our purchases.
Don’t forget the Clarion Autumn Leaf Festival food drive which supplies grocery items to the Knox Caring Cupboard as well as other organizations in the area.
As in previous years, our November and December distribution day will be moved up one week, to the second Thursday November 12 and December 10 so we will not be in conflict with the Second Harvest dates. Note to our volunteers, the shelf stocking day is also moved up one week to the FIRST Thursdays in November and December.
Thanks you for your continued support of this great mission. Suggestions are always welcome.
