We have made a change to our dates for December stocking/packing and distribution. Stocking and packing bags will be on Tuesday December 8 and distribution will be on Thursday December 10. These changes were made so as not to conflict with The Second Harvest Distribution which was moved to Dec. 17.
The Knox Police "Fill The Car" event held on November 20 was a huge success. The large amount of food collected will be a great help in filling the shelves for December. We also received gift cards to Tom's Riverside from the Clarion Chamber Foodstock program to be used for December purchases. Many individuals, community organizations, and churches continue to support the Caring Cupboard at this great time of need with donations of food and money.
Items needed for December include:
- canned soups of any variety
- crackers, canned fruits
- pasta sauces
- au gratin and scalloped potatoes
- gelatin and puddings
- macaroni and cheese
- peanut butter
- baking supplies including sugar, flour, pie fillings, baking chips
- condiments like ketchup, mustard, mayo and salad dressings (Ranch, French etc)
- ramen noodles
- tea bags and hot cocoa packets are a welcome treat for our clients.
Please contact me at 814-797-5390 if you are able to volunteer for either packing or distribution. The COVID has taken a toll on the number of people able to volunteer, so if you are healthy, free of any symptoms and want to do a great service to those in need, we'd appreciate your help.
We thank you and wish you a Very Happy and Safe Thanksgiving.
Sincerely,
Esther E. Pries, Coordinator
